About
A registered yoga school in Rishikesh, India, offering Yoga Teacher Training, dedicated to sharing authentic, immersive yoga education with students from around the world.
Our Story
Rishikesh Yog Math was founded on a simple belief: yoga is best learned the way it has been taught for centuries — in close community, beside the Ganga, under teachers who live the practice every day. What began as a small circle of dedicated instructors has grown into a full Yoga Teacher Training school, welcoming students from every corner of the globe into a tradition thousands of years old.
Every course we offer rests on the same foundation: authentic yogic philosophy, patient hands-on instruction, and a genuine sense of family between teachers and students. We keep our batches small on purpose, so no one gets lost in the crowd.
What We Stand For
Every class is rooted in genuine yogic philosophy passed down through direct lineage, not shortcuts.
Small batches so every student receives hands-on correction and real mentorship.
We teach the whole practice — asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, and philosophy — not just postures.
Our relationship with students doesn't end at graduation; you join a global community of practitioners.
Our Home
Nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas along the banks of the sacred Ganges, Rishikesh has been known as the Yoga Capital of the World for good reason. This peaceful, vegetarian, alcohol-free town has drawn seekers and students for generations, and its unhurried rhythm makes it one of the best places on earth to slow down, practice deeply, and absorb a genuinely yogic way of life.
Beyond the studio, our students explore temples, riverside ghats, the evening Ganga Aarti, and the surrounding Himalayan foothills — because for us, yoga teacher training is about more than the mat.
All of our Yoga Teacher Training programs are Registered with Yoga Alliance USA — the internationally recognized standard for yoga teacher certification.
Meet Our Team
Our instructors bring decades of combined experience in Hatha, Ashtanga, Pranayama, Meditation, Reiki, and Yogic Anatomy — each guiding students with patience, humility, and deep tradition.
Inside Our School
Rishikesh Yog Math is a small, dedicated yoga school in Rishikesh where every course is taught in person, in an ashram setting, by the same close-knit team of teachers. Here is a closer look at what we offer and how we work.
The heart of our school is the 200 hour yoga teacher training, a 25-day residential course covering asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy and teaching practice. If you have less time, the 100-hour course covers the first half of the program and can be completed later.
Qualified teachers can continue with our 300-hour advanced training, or take both stages together in the 500-hour program. For those who simply want time to practise and rest, our yoga & meditation retreat runs alongside the training courses.
We keep batches to 8–12 students so that every person gets real attention. Classes are led by specialists in each subject — Ashtanga and philosophy, pranayama, Hatha and alignment, yogic anatomy, and meditation — and the same teachers stay with your group from the first day to the last.
Practice and theory are woven together. You learn a posture on the mat, study its anatomy and alignment in the classroom, and then teach it to your fellow students, so understanding grows step by step rather than by memorising.
Our 200, 300 and 500-hour programs are registered with Yoga Alliance USA, the international body that sets standards for yoga teacher training. Graduates can register with Yoga Alliance as RYT-200 or RYT-500 teachers, depending on the course completed.
Our school is on Secret Waterfall Road in Rishikesh, close to the river and away from the busiest parts of town. Students live on site in simple ashram-style rooms and share three sattvic vegetarian meals a day.
The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, and airport pickup on your arrival date is included with our 200-hour course. Before you travel, read our Visa & Safety guide, and feel free to contact our team with any questions.
